In 2005, several concerned Japanese restaurant owners, food professionals and businesses related to Japanese food formed JRAC (Japanese Restaurants Association of Canada) to unite their voices and work together to successfully challenge and over-turn the Ontario Governments Frozen Fish By-Law that threatened their profession and businesses. Since then, the non-profit association JRAC has continued activities;

  •  to educate and raise awareness of the healthy benefits of Japanese food
  •  deepen understanding of authentic Japanese food culture to Canadians
  •  share resources and upto date information about new government regulations and food trends
  •  provide information about training and workshops to upgrade skills and qualifications
